I am bruised around the hip/abdominal area but baby's heartbeat checked out fine. I am not bleeding, but I am sore all over my torso. Baby did not like the doppler wand! At first I was starting to get nervous (but keeping it to myself) when the midwife had to search all over for baby. I was worried there would be nothing. That this would be it.
However, it turns out that Baby was running away from the wand pressure on my abdomen. Every time the MW would get a lock on the heartbeat he/she would move over to the other side of my uterus. So the MW had to chase him/her down to count heartbeats. Finally, there it was constant and reassuring.
So everything is fine. Penny is safely in the house (not street pizza or dog chow for the vicious ones next door) and baby is wonderful. :)
